N KEEPING WITH THE CENTER'S UNIVERSITY-WIDE MANDATE to operate across disciplines, faculty members from most of the University’s schools have been engaged to help build the Center’s agenda. Three key committees have involved, to date, some 30 faculty members from the Graduate School of Education, the School of Public Health, the Medical School, Children’s Hospital Boston and other University-affiliated hospitals, the Kennedy School of Government, the Law School, and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The committees include:
- Steering Committee. This interdisciplinary group of nine Harvard faculty members advises the Center on its academic and strategic goals – specifically how we can engage the broader University community in our work. Its members have given valuable input on the Center’s internal education and training agenda. Members
- Core Research Seminar. By bringing together ten scientists from a variety of disciplines to share cutting-edge research in neuroscience, sociology, psychology, and social epidemiology, this group has spurred rich discussions about interesting possibilities for collaborative study. The goal is to serve as a catalyst for new research projects that bring together work from different arenas to provide a fuller understanding of the broader issues relating to child development. Members
- Child Mental Health Workgroup. Tasked with creating a bold and creative agenda for the Center that mobilizes intellectual resources from across the Harvard community to make a major difference in the mental health of children, the Mental Health Work Group has served as a forum for sharing resources, connections and rich discussions about the state of mental health knowledge and services in Massachusetts, across the country, and internationally.
